A Community Of Prayer

“Pray without ceasing… for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

– 1Thessalonians 5:16-18

While prayer has always been central to our daily community life here in Cyprus, we have been intentionally seeking to grow in it in recent years. We believe that as we spend extended time in prayer, hearing the heartbeat of the Father and releasing it, heaven and earth move in response. His heart is to speak into the destiny of both individuals and nations. Growing in the discipline of sustained prayer has added strength and health, and our own hearts are also impacted deeply. We have taken up new boldness as we speak out and believe in faith, bearing much fruit!

One major topic on our cooperate times of prayer for many years is something we call “Ringing the Med,” from a vision given to Matthew Rudolph. He saw a picture of a the gospel sweeping with incredible power through the ancient lands once again, creating a ring of fire all around the Mediterranean Sea. Even so, it is our desire and abiding prayer to see the nations that are touched by the waters of the Mediterranean set on fire with the Gospel! We pray every Wednesday for His Kingdom to come in this region.

Prayer for Croatia

Recently, the nation of Croatia was specifically highlighted to the Wednesday morning prayer leaders. Our time of praise to begin the day flowed naturally into intercession and the release of blessing over this nation. Each individual prayer and declaration wove perfectly together as the Father’s heart for the land and people of Croatia was revealed to us! One of our students, recognising her family’s inheritance, stood in authority as she blessed the country’s ports. It is always fascinating to see how intercession for other nations and peoples causes certain reactions in various individuals as God highlights prejudice, false nationalism, and pride to be dealt with in our own hearts. Praying for nations, first of all, transforms us!

This powerful morning was only one expression of our dedicated intercession times. Since the beginning of the GTS this year, we have joyfully watched as our students have immediately picked up what has been cultivated here in the realm of prayer and intercession. We are looking forward to continuing to join together, seeing the Kingdom released through prayer and prophetic declaration!

The Huguenots roof tiles

We were recently made aware of the background story of the roof tiles on our Chapel. The way that we got them was a miracle in and of itself. God has, as He does so often, used it to teach us something about His Kingdom. In this case, the Huguenot Church. Some would call it coincidence, we like to think of it as divine design. When we got our tiles for the chapel, we realised that they were called the Huguenots. Although we love church history we could not recall much more than the fact that it was a French protestant movement that was heavily persecuted and fled for refuge to Geneva. When one of our recent teachers made us aware that the Huguenots carried an unprecedented anointing of prophetic foresight and voice, we recognised that God had once again caused the natural things to speak of better things. Since the foundation of Gateways Beyond Cyprus through the Rudolph family, our call has been to be a prophetic listening post for the Middle East and a voice that declares the purposes of God. Once again, He made sure to let us know that this has not changed!
